Battlestar Galactica Online Review

Inside the Cylon's base

Cylon Heavy Raider

Cylon Raider

Oh, yes, they've finally made an MMO out of this one... Battlestar Galactica, the famed sci-fi series from the 1970s and their recent remake has finally turned into a massively multi-player online game. Developed and published by Bigpoint, this MMO is quite stunning as it sounds.

You play as a pilot, whether a Cylon or a Colonial. As you work yourself up to bigger ships and greater weaponry. Simple missions allow you to level up your character throughout the game. Characters from the movie appears as NPCs will guide you through each and every one of the missions.

Despite my limited gameplay time,I managed to get enough time to explore partially of the universe itself. I can only say this game is quite impressive given itself as a browser based game. Running on the Unity game engine, this game scores impressive for graphics, though the controls might be a bit sluggish at times, or maybe I suck at simulations, it was easy to pick up.

Due to my lack of gameplay time for the game itself, I could not give it any ratings but for anyone of you who's really interested in the game itself, here is the website:- http://eu2.battlestar-galactica.bigpoint.com/

Star Wars Empire at War

Kablooey!!!
Don't mess with the Vader

The Empire's finest armada

awesomeness of the AT-AT

oh yeah...

Luke... I am your father...
That's right... it's that cheeky line from Star Wars all over again...
This time, the Empire is really at war...
Get the hang of either one of the groups...
the Rebellion or the Empire...
honestly, this game isn't the same for most RTS gamers...
though some of the controls look similar and easy...
there is a catch about losing your buildings...
you can't build them again... unless they are turrets...
so that means you can't go ahead and let your opponent wipe out your base and rebuild another one...
I was quite impressed with the gameplay of the campaign... though a little one sided, putting a Jedi or a Sith alone, would be overpowering and could actually make an effect in winning the whole war on their own...
Notable characters such as Darth Vader, Obi Wan Kenobi, Boba Fett, Han Solo and of course the Emperor himself has their own appearance in the game... not to forget minor characters like Grand Moff Tarkin does his appearance in the campaign as well... boasting about the firepower of the Death Star...

That's right... the Death Star is in it... though I haven't got the chance to get a hang of it yet...
typically, I love the Empire's units... yes, I've succumbed to the dark side... plenty of firepower but slow moving... that's more than enough to blow the Rebellion to Kingdom Come...
Despite, the lack of firepower, the rebellion gets to control everybody's favourite Star Wars droids... that's right... SeeThreepio and ArtooDeetoo...(C3PO & R2D2)... these droids prove themselves extremely vital in the whole game as rebellions... as they are the only droids able to steal technology from the opponent and allowing you to advance...
well, lest be said, Empire at War is a lot different from most RTS where unit buildings are easy...
controlling of reinforcement zones were a huge problem as it can be taken by enemy troops easily... overall, this game is not as easy as it looks... the Enemy even on the easiest mode is a die hard fighter... proving itself a challenge... though having a hero unit like Obi-Wan Kenobi or even Darth Vader would prove to be an overpowering advantage... nevertheless, charging in with your troops in disarray is a reckless idea... overall, awesome game... recommended to all...
